Serendipity

Although Roy said something I’ve heard from others (hearing about one event at another), it has just now made me think of the library concept of “serendipity.”
well of course I go to Write Club
which is sort of related to
Carapace in that
I learned about
them through Carapace.
[...]
I just met the people
one night at Carapace and said,
that sounds interesting, I’ll go to that.
In libraries, serendipity happens when someone goes to the shelf to find a book and discovers one or more additional books that also interest them. This especially happens in the non-fiction section, where books are arranged by topic. If a patron looks up the call number for a specific dinosaur book, more dinosaur books will be near by and they might serendipitously find other books they wish to check out.

Atlanta has a rich live lit scene. By being at one of these events, physically, individuals are also placing themselves near other events, and they run into people who attend other events. This serendipitously leads to them discovering new events they would like to attend.
