You are not alone
Others have asserted that audience members hear stories and realize they are not alone in their life struggles. I believe Amanda was the first one to point out that the storyteller also feels not alone when the audience reacts, indicating that they can relate to the storyteller’s experience.
It’s that,
it goes back to that human connection, right?
It’s like everything that we crave.
Like “oh,
I am validated.
I am confirmed that I
should have felt that way
or that I did a right job,
or that I’m not the only person who did
a dumb thing.”
So I think it’s that immediate
validation and connection
that we’re not alone
in this world even though
we’re walking around all the time
alone,
even with a lot of people,
you’re still,
nobody can get in your head, right,
it’s just you.
